These are things that are especially important if you have younger children or pets. It also means that you can get more work done, get yourself into a routine, and maybe even start to enjoy cleaning!
The first thing to do is to determine the length of the home cleaning schedule. How long would you like your cleaning schedule to last? Make it as long or as small as you want. It can be a few tasks long or have a lot of tasks built-in. This length will be dependant on how many people live in your home or how many jobs need completing. If you are elderly living alone, you wouldn’t need to do the same quantity or possibly as many times as you would create less mess. Likewise, if you have a large and busy family home, then more tasks will need to be completed on a more regular basis.
Make sure that these are all achievable goals; otherwise, there’s no point having them, and you’d be wasting time that you could use for doing other tasks. Not only that, but it will also cause you to feel disheartened if you are unable to complete all of the chores you have set out to do.
The next thing that you’ll be wanting to do is create a list comprising of all the required tasks. The longer the list, the tidier the house! Some ideas are washing the dishes, doing the laundry, vacuuming the carpets, or cleaning the windows. Creating a cleaning schedule for home is a good idea because it means that no one can forget about doing their required chores. That is the start of your tidy home. Make sure that you keep the list in a place where everyone can see and follow it. Otherwise, it becomes another item that’s sole purpose is to collect dust.
Finding out who does each job is particularly helpful if you have a big family. It means that all of the chores get done, and everyone still has free time. That is better than one person doing all of the duties and having no time to do anything else.
If you have a smaller family or live alone, this may not be the best option for you, but don’t worry! There are many other things to help you organize your house. Perhaps create a chart with everyone’s job, and place a mark or even the date each time it gets completed. If you are using it with younger children, maybe use a little sticker chart, or draw cute small icons or doodles every time your little ones complete a task.
This step is a vital part of your home cleaning schedule because if you don’t have set days for all of the tasks, you will most likely procrastinate and not want to do them. Maybe have a cleaning day, or do a few jobs each night. No matter how you decide to do it, be sure to have set days for each job.
It also means that you can arrange things around the days that you clean or work, meaning that you are less likely to need to rearrange your plans for cleaning duties.
I would recommend doing this for every task. It means that you don’t overdo them, and equally, it means that you do each job correctly. For example, maybe vacuum the carpets every day or two, or doing the laundry every other day. If you have many pets, or even just one dog or another furry animal that sheds a lot, you may need to vacuum more than every day.
However, jobs such as cleaning guttering, etc. may only need to get done once or twice a year. Whereas you may have tasks that you consider monthly jobs. Like cleaning your windows, Assign them as jobs to do in the fall/winter, or other times of the year.
This step may be of some help to you if you take a while to complete tasks. Likewise, if you are continually putting things off or you get distracted easily.
Set yourself an alarm at a time when you can start your home cleaning schedule, and another alarm for half an hour before the time you intend to finish, and an alarm for when you want to have completed your jobs. That can be a highly effective way to achieve the goal because it will cause you to want to hurry and complete your tasks before your next alarm.
That is almost as though you are competing with your own personal best. Also, this works for kids too! Maybe tell them that they can’t go on their phone or Xbox until they have finished the chores that they need to do. It’s sure to make them do their duties.
Create a reward system for completing your cleaning schedule at home. Let yourself relax a bit. Every time you complete the list, reward yourself. Maybe treat yourself to a takeaway, or perhaps take yourself out for a coffee or something. That is also a great way of rewarding children when they help you; for example, they can have $5 pocket money every time they finish all of their tasks or get to stay up later when they complete a task.
